2019 Season Announced!

We are so excited to announce our 2019 season......some comedy, some drama, and our first musical!

First up: the annual 8 TENS @ EIGHT SHORT PLAY FESTIVAL, opening January 4, 2019. The annual 10-minute play festival is one of the most anticipated and popular events of the theatre season in Santa Cruz! Sixteen awarded-winning short plays, from our annual international playwriting contest, are performed and directed by some of the best the Santa Cruz theatre community has to offer. The Festival presents 8 short plays on “A” Night, and 8 different plays on “B” Night, running in repertoire.

In April we present Jane Anderson's acclaimed comedy-drama LOOKING FOR NORMAL.

Meet Roy and Irma, who have been married for twenty-five years. They have two children. They’re respected members of their church and their community. But when they go to their pastor for marriage counseling, Roy confesses that he’s a woman trapped in a man’s body and wants to have a sex change. The play explores the complexities of marriage, family, and deconstructs the very notion of love. Directed by Erik Gandolfi.

In September we present our first musical, Stephen Sondheim's Tony-Award winning comedy COMPANY! Our contemporary take on Stephen Sondheim’s iconic musical is about life, love, marriage, and the quest to find what makes one happy. Company is largely regarded as a trailblazer of the dark-comedy, modern-musical genre. Directed by Andrew Ceglio.
